Asia Argento and Ashton Whitty
Ashton Blaise Whitty is an American actress, born in Berkeley on October 1, 1995. She is most famous for her acting appearing as a character in Choices (2011), The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2004), and Chrissie Mair's Content House.
Asia Argento is an Italian actress and filmmaker who came from an extended family that included both. She's pursued the two fields of work for herself. She made her debut when she was only nine years old, in Sergio Citti's Sogni e bisogni (1985). In 1988 she had her role as the main character in Cristina Comencini's debut film, Zoo (1988), and was part of the cast of The Church (1989), directed by Michele Soavi. Then, in 1989, she played Nanni Moretti's (also directed by Michele Soavi) daughter, also directed by Michele Soavi in Red Wood Pigeon. Close Friends (written and directed by Michele Placido) was when Asia's acting career truly began to take off. The roles she played changed from very young to becoming more mature. Cannes International Film Festival received the film with great awe. The Phantom of The Opera is her third collaboration alongside her father. Trauma and The Stendhal Syndrome were her first two. The Phantom of the Opera is the third film she has acted in with her Father, the first two films being Trauma and The Stendhal Syndrome. Asia's absorbed and intense approach to acting has been utilized by Giuseppe Piccioni in Condannato a Nozze. Patrice Chereau was the director. Queen Margot and she also had a role as a physically disabled girl in the film. In 1995, her collaboration with Michel Piccoli, in Peter Del Monte's Traveling Companion won her yet another David di Donatello award and Grolla di Oro. Asia started to direct short films in 1994. She made two: Prospettive, 1996, she produced a documentary on her father; and Abel/Asia from 1998. Both focused on the famous film director Abel Ferrara. This latter was recognized by the Rome Film Festival. In 1999, Asia began her film-directing career by directing Scarlet Diva (2000), where she played the lead actress as well as the writer of the screenplay. The movie was released globally in the month of May. It was awarded a trophy during the Williamsburg International Film Festival in Brooklyn. Anna Lou, the first daughter of the couple was born in the month of January of 2001. In 2002, Asia starred as Jean-Marc Bar's co-star The Red Siren (Olivier Megaton) and Vin Diesel was the star of Rob Cohen's action thriller The Action. The short stories of Asia have been featured in prestigious publications.
